Has anyone ever had major problems with their Volkswagen EOS?

I am having HUGE problems right now with my 2009 Volkswagen EOS. I cannot find ANYTHING on the Internet with ANYONE else who has gone through this:

I have had the convertible top stop working in mid air three times now. I have to call a Flat Bed to take it to the Dealership where they keep telling me it's fixed, and the next day, it's not. This is happened 3 times now. Volkswagen wants to put a brand new top on it! It's 3 months old AND the top will cost $8,000! Not to mention labor! HELLO?! The dealership told me they weren't sure if it was covered. I almost threw up.

I am leasing this car, I put $4,000 down and pay $499 a month. This should NOT be happening!

I am currently trying to get Volkswagen to put me into something else.

Anyone have a similar experience with their EOS top?
Anyone ever been put into a new car by Volkswagen?

Thanks...

The convertible tops on Eos' are horribly designed. I knew that they had problems when they first came out, but I didn't realize that the problems haven't gone away yet...

I talked my mom out of getting an Eos last year and she got a new Beetle convertible instead (or a Jetta, at the very least). If you can, try to get the dealership to get you one of those. Personally, I drive a VW Cabrio. The top on my car is nearly a decade old, doesn't leak one drop of water, and goes up and down like it's new. I have seen a brand new Eos that leaks like a sieve and occasionally gets stuck, too.

My 2007 EOS developed a leak when I was only 200 miles out of warranty and VW refused to fix it. The damage has been extensive to the leather seats and leatherette around the doors. I had the joy of paying of my EOS back in Jan. 2014 and have had nothing but problems since. Let me also add my EOS has less than 55,000 miles on it. I have, to date paid over $8000 for various issues ranging from fuel filter leaks, antifreeze mixing with oil, and now the G182 temp sensor (monitors fluid in transmission) has gone bad. I can live with the cosmetic downside of a leak, but the other repairs were necessary due to safety. I would NOT recommend this model. It pains me to write this, because when it is not costing me money it is hands down my most favorite car owned at the age of 46. I would have driven it until the wheels came off and now I am having to look at purchasing another vehicle before the "next" thing goes wrong.

I bought two 2012 Eos's (Exec models) for my wife and I and have had NO problems with either the convertible tops, electronics or the engines. I love driving it and give this car a great rating.
