How much to paint a 1969 VW Bug satin black. What would be an average cost. The car as it sits now is satin black but has some scratches and scuffs and needs repainted. Looking for just a good paint job not trying to enter into car shows or anything :)

you can get a decent paint doing your own work for a few hundred dollars or take t to a shop for about $2000. ive even seen $50 roller paint jobs that looked good (not recommended however). the real trick really is all in the prep work, and doing the paint under the right conditions. so its $ and let it be someone elses problem. or save the $ but have a lot of patience. also be cautious of discount auto-body shops like maaco, you get what you pay for.

Miss The vw's of the year 1969 are nice but you will be seeing it in your local neighborhood shops for a lot of money spent in fixing it. When anything else is done to it its just money being spent on repairs. Need I say more in this experiance.? good luck

Depending on the amount of prep, and if you are doing the work yourself or having the body shop to do it.

The usual ballpark price can run between 500-3000 dollars.

This is is you want a two or one stage paint and a good clear coat on top of that.
